Fourth seeded IU Southeast (18-23 overall) finished its season after three narrow losses in games against UVA Wise 30-23,30-26,30-27 in the early match. Sixth seeded Mountain State (30-15 overall) hung tough at a game a piece before falling 30-18,25-30,30-24,30-19.
