Point Park University sophomore Angie Abel was named the KIAC women's soccer defensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, October 1st. Point Park finished the week with a 2-0 record after picking up road wins against Brescia University (3-0) and Midway College (7-0). Central defender Angie Abel played all 180 minutes in both shutout wins last week. She was a key defensive player in helping the Pioneers outscore their opponents 10-0. The Point Park defense only allowed three shots at Brescia and eight shots at Midway. The Pioneers are 6-2 overall and lead the KIAC with a 3-0 conference record. They will return to action on October 5th when they travel to Salem International University.
